If you need to add a user to a group, such as adding yourself to the “www-data” you can use the following method.

Command Line

To add a user to a group, open a terminal and type:

Replace the “desiredgroup” with the group that you want to belong to.

Replace “username” with the account name you want to add to the specified group.

As an example, we can add the username “iddqd” to the group “godmode”, use the following command:

To remove a user from a group:
